How to Enjoy the Fire Pit at Lilac Lakehouse

One of our favorite ways to end the day at The Lilac Lakehouse is by gathering around the fire pit. Whether you're roasting marshmallows with the kids or enjoying a quiet evening under the stars, we want you to have a safe and relaxing experience!
Before lighting a fire, please take a moment to read the information below.
Fire regulations in our area require every guest to activate a burn permit before using the fire pit.
Before You Start
Every fire must be registered through the county's burn notification system. To activate your permit, simply reach out to us before lighting the fire. When prompted, use our permit number: #STA25-348.
If you can't reach the system or the recording says burning is not permitted, please do not light a fire. Burn restrictions can change depending on weather conditions, and we appreciate your help in keeping our community safe.
Enjoying the Fire Responsibly
Please keep fires small and manageable. The fire pit is designed to burn no more than three logs at a time, so avoid overloading it with wood or debris.
An adult should supervise the fire at all times, and it should never be left unattended. While you're enjoying your evening, please be mindful of smoke and sparks, especially if it's windy, so they don't affect neighboring properties. For your safety, a fire extinguisher is located beside the pizza oven should you ever need it.
Lighting the Fire
You'll find kindling and chopped wood in the firewood bags provided. Start with the smaller pieces first, then gradually add logs as the fire grows. Adding wood slowly will help create a steady, enjoyable fire while preventing excessive smoke.
Please use caution when opening the fire pit door during use, as the handle becomes extremely hot.
When You're Finished
When your evening comes to an end, allow the fire to burn down naturally whenever possible. If needed, you can safely extinguish the fire using the garden hose located beside the side deck.
Once the ashes have completely cooled, please remove any remaining debris and dispose of it in the green bin.
Need More Firewood?
If you'd like to keep the fire going another night, additional firewood is available beneath the exterior stairs leading to the pergola.
Each XL firewood bag is $20 and includes kindling, chopped wood, and firewood logs. Payment can be left in the cash box at the Lilac Lakehouse Shop or sent by e-transfer to lilaclakehouse@gmail.com.
We hope you enjoy making memories around the fire pit. Thank you for helping us keep Lilac Lakehouse safe so every guest can enjoy this special part of the property for years to come.
