Spring: A Blooming Paradise
As the days grow warmer, The Lilac Lakehouse transforms into a floral wonderland, beginning with thousands of daffodils, tulips, crocus, and more.
Early spring may still be a bit chilly, but there are many perfect (indoor) spot to savor The County's new foodie bounty. April's usually a host month for Countylicious - a time when local restaurants come alive after a long winter season, and start to showcase their delicious fixed-price menus!
Mid-spring, the property’s gardens come alive with the vibrant colors and sweet scents of lilacs, lavender, and other blooms... all signals of warmer weather and sunnier days. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee on your private balcony, the expansive deck, or even the panoramic dock, surrounded by nature’s rejuvenation.
Speaking of lilacs, we have to mention the lilac paradise that transforms The County mid-may to early June... after all, we named our Lakehouse after it! For bicycle enthusiasts, there's even an Annual Rotary Lilac Ride, which usually includes 25, 50, and 100km route options followed by a post-ride BBQ!
Summer: The Ultimate Waterfront Retreat
Summertime at Lilac Lakehouse is all about soaking up the sun and enjoying the water. The 1,000+ square foot dock becomes your favorite hangout spot for sunbathing, fishing, or simply taking in the view. Paddleboards is your disposal for exploring the calm waters of Lake Ontario.
The expansive deck, patios, and pergola complete with a BBQ and outdoor seating, is ideal for family meals or evening cocktails as the sun sets over the lake. Long, lazy summer days blend seamlessly into starlit nights, creating memories you’ll cherish forever.
Towards the end of summer begins harvest season, and this is when The County truly shines! Roadside stands are brimming with small-farm specialty crops, and bigger farm stands are loaded with bushels of fruits and veggies from across PEC!
Autumn: A Cozy and Colorful Escape
As the leaves turn to hues of gold, orange, and red, Lilac Lakehouse becomes a cozy haven for fall getaways. The property’s gardens and surrounding trees create a picturesque landscape perfect for seasonal photos and quiet reflection.
Our favourite season, Thanksgiving, is perfect to spend in PEC, where harvest is in full swing and there are loads of local products to feed a crowd with. Our chef-style kitchen and expansive live-edge wood dining table for 12 makes the Lakehouse the ideal place for a gathering with family and friends - and no matter what holiday weekend it is, it's always a great opportunity to be thankful for what we have.
Countylicious, a time when local restaurants feature their seasonal curations for set-price menus, often takes place in late October to mid-November. Personally, we prefer this time for Countylicious, as restaurants really leverage all the amazing goodies that The County's amazing farmers (big, or small!) have shared with us lucky foodies.
After a day of exploring local wineries or apple orchards, gather around the indoor fireplace or enjoy a warm drink on the deck. The crisp air and brilliant foliage make autumn an enchanting time to visit... and we have plenty of throw blankets at the Lakehouse to make sure you're more cozy than chilly!
Winter: A Tranquil Wonderland
Winter at Lilac Lakehouse is a time of serene beauty and cozy comfort. Picture yourself curled up with a blanket and a book in the top-floor lounge, watching snowflakes drift gently past the windows. The Lakehouse’s warm interiors provide the perfect contrast to the frosty outdoor scenery.
For those seeking adventure, Prince Edward County’s winter activities, like snowshoeing or ice fishing, are available right on or around the property (be sure to follow safety practices, especially when on an icy lake).

For those who need to work but want a little fun, the Lakehouse is a perfect spot for a "Workcation", thanks to our fast wifi, private office, and plenty of other spots for collaboration, inspiration, and checking more items off that ever-expanding to-do list.
