There’s no better feeling than stepping out into the sunshine, hearing the gentle lap of the water, and knowing the lake is right there.

Calm, inviting, and ready for whatever kind of day you’re dreaming up.

At the Lilac Lakehouse, the lake isn’t just the view - it’s the experience.

Water Use & Safety at the Lilac Lakehouse

Whether you’re paddling at sunrise, floating in the afternoon sun, or letting the kids splash at the edge, we’ve done our best to make sure you can enjoy the water safely and confidently.

Here's everything you need to know to stay safe and have fun on the lake.

What’s Available for Guest Use

Your stay includes full access to our quiet, swimmable cove and the gear that comes with it.

Here's what we've got ready for you:

  • Four paddle boards

  • Personal flotation devices (PFDs/life jackets) in a variety of sizes

  • A dock ladder for easy in-and-out swimming

  • Lake towels in the lower lounge bathroom

  • A spacious dock to relax, fish, or hop in from

Everything is clearly stored and easy to grab. Just help yourself, use what you need, and return it at the end of the day so the next guest gets the same easy experience.

Safety First: A Few Things to Keep in Mind

We want your lake time to be memorable for all the right reasons. While our cove is usually very calm, water always deserves respect.

Here are some key safety tips:

  • Always wear a lifejacket when paddleboarding - yes, even if you’re a strong swimmer

  • Supervise children closely at all times, especially near the dock or in the water

  • No diving off the dock, the water level can change with the season

  • Only paddle out when conditions are calm. If it’s windy or the lake feels choppy, it’s okay to wait it out

  • Don’t venture out too far unless you’re confident in your skills and have checked the weather

  • Please return all PFDs to the deck box once dry

There’s no lifeguard, and we trust guests to use their best judgment, especially with younger swimmers or less experienced paddlers.

Please Avoid

  • Jumping off the dock headfirst

  • Rough play or pushing near the edge

  • Leaving gear or towels out overnight (they tend to wander off with the wind)

Just Add Water

One of the best things about the Lilac Lakehouse is that feeling of stepping into nature without stress. We’ve tried to make the lake as accessible and safe as possible for all kinds of guests, from confident adventurers to cautious dippers.

So take it slow, paddle out, dip in, dry off, and do it again tomorrow.
