One season, the fields beyond your window glow with golden wheat, swaying gently beneath a summer breeze. Another, neat rows of emerald soybeans stretch toward the horizon. By late summer, tall corn catches the morning light, while autumn paints the countryside in rich earth tones before winter quietly blankets everything in white.

The view changes, but the feeling never does.

The Field Suite celebrates this quieter side of Prince Edward County, one that often escapes the postcards but leaves just as lasting an impression. It's a reminder that while the County is known for its wineries, beaches, and waterfront sunsets, it is also a place of working farms, open skies, and generations of families who have shaped this landscape long before it became a destination.

Here, mornings arrive gently. The first light spills across the neighbouring fields before making its way into the room, filling the space with a warm, golden glow that seems to encourage just five more minutes beneath the covers. It's a different kind of sunrise than the one over the lake, softer, slower… the kind that makes you instinctively reach for a cup of coffee before anything else.

Designed with shared experiences in mind, The Field Room features two comfortable double beds, making it an inviting retreat for siblings, lifelong friends, parents travelling with young children, or couples exploring the County together. Somehow, sharing a room while travelling always feels a little different than sharing one at home.

Conversations last longer. Laughter comes more drifts into the night. Tomorrow's plans are made without anyone glancing at the clock.

The décor embraces the same timeless elegance found throughout the Lilac Lakehouse, with soft neutral tones, creamy wood textures, and understated furnishings that allow the natural beauty outside to remain the focal point. The soaring ceiling brings an airy openness to the room, while layered textiles and gentle lighting create a space that feels welcoming from the moment you arrive.

Rather than a traditional closet, The Field Suite offers an expansive custom-built wardrobe with generous shelving and deep drawers, providing more than enough space to unpack, settle in, and make yourself at home. Whether you're staying for a long weekend or an extended getaway, everything has its place, leaving the room feeling uncluttered and effortlessly comfortable.

Beyond the bedroom, your private ensuite continues the feeling of relaxed luxury.

The oversized curbless shower features invigorating body jets, transforming an everyday shower into a spa-like experience after a day spent exploring wineries, cycling quiet country roads, wandering by beautiful fields, or discovering hidden beaches along Lake Ontario. Spacious, bright, and thoughtfully designed, it's a place to refresh without ever feeling rushed.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap are all thoughtfully provided during your stay. And should you discover you've forgotten something at home, The Nook—our honour-system convenience shop—is just steps away, offering everyday travel essentials alongside a few indulgent extras, from locally crafted soaps to luxurious bubble bath kits and other thoughtful comforts.

One of our favourite morning rituals begins just outside the room.

Follow the aroma of fresh coffee into the upstairs loft, where comfortable seating and panoramic windows invite everyone to gather before the day begins. From there, step onto The Sunrise Balcony, where the fields stretch out before you in all their seasonal beauty. It's a peaceful place to watch the County awaken; a tractor beginning its work in the distance, birds weaving across the sky, or the first rays of sunlight illuminating the landscape one field at a time.

It's remarkable how quickly mornings become slower here.

When we named this room, we weren't simply thinking about the fields outside its windows, we were thinking about everything they represent: space to breathe, the changing seasons, the quiet confidence of a landscape that never needs to hurry, and the simple joy of sharing that view with people who make every journey worth taking.

Some vacations are remembered because of where you went, while others are remembered because of who you shared them with.
