The Lilac Suite

A room inspired by the flowers that gave the Lakehouse its name.
There is a particular kind of quiet that only seems to exist near the water.
Not silence—never silence—but the gentle rhythm of a sheltered cove, the rustle of leaves beyond the balcony, and the occasional call of a bird somewhere along the shoreline. It's the sort of quiet that doesn't ask anything of you. It simply invites you to stay a little longer.
The Lilac Suite was designed for moments like these.
Named after the hundreds of lilac shrubs that bloom across the property each spring, this suite reflects the very character of the estate. Soft lavender accents mingle with warm woods, creamy linens, and layers of inviting texture, creating a space that feels calm without feeling precious. Like the flowers themselves, it is understated, elegant, and quietly memorable.

While every bedroom at the Lilac Lakehouse offers comfort and privacy, the Lilac Suite has a personality all its own. It feels warmer somehow—a little softer around the edges. The muted palette, plush fabrics, and natural materials create an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, settle in, and simply enjoy being exactly where you are.
And then there is the view.
From the king-sized bed, your eyes naturally drift toward the balcony doors and the calm waters beyond. As the afternoon gives way to evening, the cove takes on a softer glow, reflecting the changing sky in gentle layers of gold, violet, and blue. It's the kind of view that quietly competes with conversation, where a sentence trails off because everyone has turned to watch the sunset.
Step onto your private balcony with a glass of Prince Edward County wine, or curl up with a blanket as the last light slips behind the trees. There is no schedule here. No rush to be anywhere else. Just the lake, the evening breeze and romantic sunset from your balcony, and the feeling that perhaps you've finally remembered how to relax.
Inside, the suite continues that same sense of calm.
The spacious walk-in closet makes unpacking feel surprisingly satisfying, allowing luggage to disappear so the room remains uncluttered throughout your stay. It's a small detail, but one that helps the suite feel less like temporary accommodation and more like a place to settle into for a while.
For families travelling with little ones, a portable adjustable crib can also be added upon request, allowing even the youngest guests to enjoy the comfort of the suite without compromising its peaceful atmosphere.
The ensuite bathroom was designed with a different philosophy than many modern bathrooms. Rather than squeezing in both a tub and shower, we chose to dedicate the space to something far more indulgent: a deep freestanding soaker tub.

Filled with warm water, surrounded by soft light, and complete with a handheld shower for convenience, it's a place to linger rather than simply prepare for the day. After an afternoon exploring wineries, cycling quiet County roads, or wandering Sandbanks Provincial Park, there is something wonderfully restorative about sinking into a bath while the evening settles outside.
The Lilac Suite's ensuite does not include a separate standing shower, but for many guests, that's exactly the point. This room invites you to slow down. To soak. To breathe.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap are thoughtfully provided, so you can pack a little lighter. And should you discover you've forgotten something at home, there's no need to interrupt your getaway with a trip into town. Just steps away, you'll find The Nook, which is our honour-system convenience shop stocked with everyday essentials like toothbrushes, razors, and personal care items, alongside little indulgences such as locally crafted soaps and relaxing bubble bath kits. Sometimes, the smallest comforts make the biggest difference.
One of our favourite features of the upper floor isn't found inside any one bedroom at all.
Just beyond the suite is the loft—a shared gathering space where mornings often begin slowly. Coffee steams quietly from oversized mugs. Someone flips through a novel on the sofa while another watches the lake awaken through the panoramic windows. Step onto the opposite balcony, affectionately known as The Sunrise Balcony, and you'll be greeted by a completely different view of the property. Here, the first light of day spills across the neighbouring fields before reaching the Lakehouse itself, creating a peaceful morning ritual that's become a favourite for many returning guests.
It's one of those unexpected spaces that brings people together before the adventures of the day begin.
When we designed the Lilac Suite, we weren't trying to create the most luxurious bedroom on the property.
We wanted to create a room that made people feel something.
A place where sunsets seem to last just a little longer. Where conversations become quieter as the sky changes colour. Where the simple act of opening the balcony doors and taking a deep breath reminds you that sometimes, the greatest luxury isn't extravagance at all.
It's having nowhere else you need to be.
