Where the day unfolds at its own pace.

Every memorable home seems to have one room that quietly becomes everyone's favourite… not because anyone planned it, but because it simply happens.

Someone wanders in with a mug of coffee while the rest of the house is still slowly waking. A second person joins them a few minutes later. Before long, someone has curled up with a blanket, another is flipping through photos from yesterday's adventures, and the conversation drifts effortlessly from breakfast plans to stories that somehow haven't been told in years.

By the time everyone else arrives, it already feels like the place to be… showing why the loft was created for moments exactly like these.

Perched above the main living space, this bright, open perch offers a different perspective of the Lakehouse. Towering windows frame the ever-changing countryside beyond, while soaring ceilings and natural light create an atmosphere that feels wonderfully open without ever losing its sense of comfort.

It's a room that seems to breathe.

The generous sectional sofa quickly becomes its centrepiece. Some mornings, it's where coffee lasts a little longer than expected while the first light spreads across the neighbouring field. On rainy afternoons, it becomes the perfect place to stretch out beneath a blanket with a favourite book. As evening settles in, glasses of local wine replace coffee mugs, conversations slow, and laughter drifts easily through the open space.

Sometimes the destination for the day turns out to be the couch, and it’s perfect.

For guests travelling together, the sectional also transforms into an additional sleeping space, offering flexibility for larger groups while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere of the upper floor. Whether it's used for an overnight guest or simply as the world's most comfortable place to enjoy an afternoon nap, it has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home.

One detail you may not notice right away is the television. That's entirely intentional.

Mounted on the wall is Samsung's The Frame, a 65-inch television that spends most of its time pretending not to be one. When it's not in use, it displays carefully selected artwork that blends naturally into the room, allowing the space to remain calm and uncluttered instead of revolving around a screen.

Of course, when movie night arrives, it's ready. But until then, we'd much rather the room invite conversation than distraction.

Step through the nearby doors onto what has quietly become one of our favourite places on the property: The Sunrise Balcony.

Bright modern loft living room with gray sectional, wood coffee table, large windows, TV console, and sloped white ceiling.

While the waterfront side of the Lakehouse offers unforgettable sunsets, this balcony welcomes an entirely different kind of beauty. As dawn arrives, the first golden light spills gently across the neighbouring fields, slowly illuminating the landscape one row at a time. Depending on the season, you may find yourself overlooking fields of wheat, soybeans, or corn, each bringing its own colours and character to the view.

It's difficult to explain just how peaceful those mornings feel. Coffee somehow tastes better in the  fresh morning air. Books gain another chapter. Conversations seem to wander without anyone checking the time. Even those who rarely wake early often find themselves stepping outside "just to have a look," only to realize they've been standing there for twenty quiet minutes. And that's perfectly alright.

The loft isn't designed around entertainment; it's designed around connection. Connection with the people you've travelled here with. Connection with the changing landscape beyond the windows. And perhaps, after a busy season of calendars, emails, and endless notifications, connection with yourself again.

And, quite literally, it’s what connects all four bedrooms to bring everyone together: the heart where The Lilac Suite, The Lake Suite, The Field Suite, and The Cressy Suite all flow into a centralized cozy spot. When we imagined this space, we didn't picture it filled with activity, but with presence.

Things like friends lingering over a second cup of coffee, children quietly drawing while the adults talk nearby. Someone reading by the windows as rain taps gently against the glass. A family watching an old favourite movie together after a day on the lake.

The moments that seem almost ordinary while they're happening often become the ones we remember most. Perhaps that's because they ask nothing of us except to be there.

At the Lilac Lakehouse, The Panoramic Loft has quietly become the room where those moments naturally find a home.
